Parent Guide

Prodigy Preschool and Childcare is designed to be a home away from home for children where they can learn, laugh, grow, and have fun.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

We feel it is essential that parents and guardians understand the importance of structure and consistency.  Our teachers work very hard to create a safe, happy, secure environment for our students so we ask that parents respect the drop off and pick up time.

Written consent and verbal notification is required in advance if a non-designated person will be picking up your child.  Upon pick up, photo identification must be presented before your child is released to them.

SKATING LESSONS

While skating time is fun and exciting, we request that loved ones who wish to watch their skater please ask teachers for videos. Refraining from coming to school and inside the rink will keep your child focused on learning and being safe on the ice. Those who do not follow these rules or are consistently disruptive to class will be asked to leave. Our main concern is for the safety of our students.

CONFERENCES

We ask parents to please avoid distracting your child's teacher with an impromptu doorway conference.  Our teachers prefer to set up private appointments with parents and they are also available for phone conferences.

ILLNESS:

Prodigy strives to be a healthy environment for all. Therefore, children with a temperature of 101 degrees or above are not permitted in school and cannot return until they are at least 24 hours fever free.  Please contact the school if your child will be absent due to any contagious illness, such as chicken pox, pink eye, etc., so we can discreetly inform the other parents and staff of any health precautions. In addition, upon returning to school, children are required to have a doctor's note which clearly states that they are no longer contagious. The families of children who become ill at school will be notified and are expected to pick up their child in a timely fashion. Children need to symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to school.
